1. Why choose bartending as a career?
Bartending offers exciting and rewarding career opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds. Bartending
offers a great opportunity for those seeking a challenging and rewarding career. It takes a maximum of three
weeks (long course) to learn all the skills necessary to become a bartender - and you can start working immediately
thereafter! Bartending is a profession that is practiced the world over - which means jobs the world over! Bartenders
can choose the working environment that suits them best, amongst a variety of venues such as hotels, restaurants,
nightclubs, cocktail lounges, etc. Not just a job, bartending will enhance your lifestyle as you meet interesting people
and solve the world's problems.

2. Do I need to take a bartending course?
Most bars will not hire you unless you posses the necessary skills and knowledge. Most organizations do not have
the time or budget to train you. They need people who can come on board and begin to work immediately. Taking
a professional bartender's course provides you with the skills and knowledge the managers are looking for.

3. Why take a course at De Bar?
An internationally recognized certification will be earned upon completion of courses at De Bar. Course participants
receive a certificate from De Bar which is recognized by the World Bartender's Training Organization. When you take
a course at De Bar you will be mixing drinks behind our fully-equipped bar. While many schools use colored water,
De Bar uses top quality, world-class brand spirits.
We believe that it is essential to use the genuine ingredients to
familiarize students with proper cocktails. In addition to learning to create world-class cocktails, course participants will
learn a variety of flaring techniques and bar tricks that will dazzle even the well-travelled bar-fly.

4. Is bartending just a "male thing"?
At one time bartenders were mostly men, but things have changed in the last twenty years - today there are as many
female bartenders as male.

5. How old do I have to be to take a course at De Bar?
18 years old. In most countries 18 is the legal age required for tending bars and serving alcohol.

6. What is the age range of course participants?
There is no specific age range for course participants. People of all ages are welcome to participate in the courses.

7. Does having the certificate help one get a job?
The certificate indicates that you have had bartender's training. When looking for a job the certificate will place you
one step ahead of others who do not have such a credential.

8. Is it required to have a license or certification to work as a bartender?
No official or legal bartender license is required, but most employers do require that you have a certification from a
reputable school.

9. When I have completed the course, will De Bar find me a job?
We are not permitted to guarantee that we will find you a job. However, De Bar will assist its graduates with job
placements. Your name will be stored on our data base and you will be allowed to use our job placement assistance
service at your convenience.

10. What is the "World Bartenders Training Organization"?
The WBTO is an association and network of bartending schools and principals that provides a world-wide resource
for the graduates of the member schools. The WBTO is dedicated to facilitating professional development of graduates
and promoting its affiliate schools and the bartending industry. The organizations activities include: holding conferences
to provide a forum for its members to exchange information concerning industry trends and developments, and facilitating
cooperation amongst the bartending schools to provide its graduates with free courses, international certifications, and
job opportunities all over the world.

As a graduate of De Bar you will be able to visit member schools all over the world and participate in free seminars. You
will learn about the local culture and trends, and receive assistance with job placements when available.
